Humber Business Growth Hub celebrate 1st anniversary

Helping 100s of businesses to take their next step

After launching in October 2018, the #GrowMySME Programme has experienced an incredible uptake amongst local businesses within the Humber region. With the aim to help businesses grow, they have offered over 70 workshops and masterclasses alongside support from expert advisors.

The support network consists of three different strands focussing on ICT, finance and business, and is supported by the European Regional Development Fund. Small and medium sized enterprises have been encouraged to register for the scheme in order to gain access to specialist one-to-one advice, a varied workshop and masterclass series, and grant scheme support.

Since its launch, 958 delegates have registered for the programme or attended various different workshops with advice on everything from digital marketing to preparing for Brexit.

Jon Brunton, Growth Hub Manager said:

“It’s been a fantastic year and we’re thrilled to have helped so many local SMEs and as we move forward, we hope to attract many others to sign up for support. All our schemes are completely free, and you can gain access to a wealth of knowledge and help from our expert team of advisors. We’d encourage all local SMEs to sign up and see how we can help.”

With lots of local businesses accessing support, the hub is beginning to grow with more programmes and workshops to be introduced.

95% of SMEs in the Humber region may be eligible to access support. If you’re a business with under 250 full-time equivalent employees you should fit the bill.

The #GrowMySME Programme is supported by the 2014 to 2020 European Regional Development Fund Programme. These schemes are delivered by Humber Business Growth Hub and Hull City Council, in partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council, North Lincolnshire Council, North East Lincolnshire Council and e-factor Group Ltd.
