#GrowMySME programme supports over 220 SMEs through ICT grants & business advice during Covid
SMEs affected by the coronavirus pandemic have been awarded almost £500,000 of grants since March – and more support is still available.
We’ve ramped up activity over recent months to help businesses through this difficult time by awarding £490k of ICT grants to help SMEs adapt to working from home, the cost of new equipment and network connectivity. £50k of specialist start-up grants are also helping new businesses survive.
Alongside ICT support, SMEs from across the Humber region can access grant funding and specialist support through our Business Growth and Finance for Growth schemes, with grants of up to £5,000 to access one to one support from expert financial and business advisors.
There is also an additional start-up grant of £1,000 available to businesses under a year old, helping cover initial set-ups costs such as connectivity, IT equipment and specialist software.

“There’s been an incredible demand for support through the #GrowMySME programme at what has been a very challenging time for business. It’s never been more important to ensure our local businesses are thriving and we’ve put extra measures in place to ensure we can support as many SMEs as possible to bounce back from Covid-19.
“We’ve still got other grants available through our Finance and Business Support schemes, and our expert business advisors are able to help businesses develop their ideas, get additional support or access training to help them grow. We’ve also been hosting online webinars in which Humber based businesses can get expert advice on everything from ICT systems and digital marketing to HR challenges. We’ve delivered 85 hours of online training over the last three months, with an average of 50 attendees on each webinar. Head to our digital resources page to catch up.
